The VelociRaptor high speed vertical machining center is setup for workholding and ideal for high speed machining and micro hole drilling applications where turn around is critical Datron's 60000 RPM high frequency spindles for small micro tools 1/4 inch or smaller yields breathtaking cycle times and surface finishes Datron's unique ethanol coolant has a low viscosity that quickly covers and cools fast moving micro tools and is better for the environment since it simply evaporates
VelociRaptor Bed: The velociRaptor features a 2kW, 60,000 RPM spindle, feed rates up to 1000' per minute and a workholding setup comprised of a beveled boss-in-cavity system. Chips Fly: A 1/4” high-speed cutter (HSC+) flies through 6061 aluminum sheet thanks to Datron's standard 60,000 RPM spindle. Ethanol Coolant: A thinner-than-water viscosity, allows ethanol to quickly covers and cools more surface area (than oil) on fast-moving micro tooling.

Z-Correction Probe: This Probe recognizes irregular topography and compensates for it dynamically by taking measurements along the surface and feeding data into the machining controller. Renishaw TP20 Probe: This omni-axis probe is ideal for complex part measurement like engraving a logo onto a rounded surface. The 6-way, kinematic, touch-trigger sensing significantly improves cycle times. Nested (Batch) Machining: The VelociRaptor, has a large bed that delivers 40” x 27.6” x 9.6” of machining area that accommodates workholding and facilitates nested (batch) machining.
An opening or cut away option on Datron machine tools allows for vertical clamping as well as positioning of 4th and 5th axes Datron's EcoRaptor vertical machine tool machining center is afforadble and offers a large work area for high speed micro machining
Cut-Away: A "cut-away" option (or open notch at the front of the bed) allows for the vertical mounting of parts — a technique normally restricted by a gantry-style machine. EcoRaptor: The EcoRaptor's large work area of 40" x 27.5" x 9.5" allows you machine larger parts or nest many small parts for higher volume production runs
